What if you knew
she starts missing you
minutes after saying goodbye to you?
What if you knew
she scrolls through your messages to her
just to feel close to you?
What if you knew
she blushes every time she hears your name
a smile forming in her heart?
What if you knew
despite telling herself she probably shouldn’t just yet
she’s already beginning to fall for you…?

He mangled his words around her...
She knows most people are attracted
to the way he speaks.
The warm, deep voice,
the accent that almost sang his words,
and the words themselves
so eloquent and confident.
This is what drew people to him,
and as a poet
she well understood the appeal.
But he mangled his words around her.
For weeks
whenever they met,
whenever he’s around her
he’d make a mess of his words.
And every time he stumbled on his words,
then blushed hotly
and glanced her way
part embarrassed, part exasperated;
he seduced her heart.
Her heart was his
long before the stumbling stopped…
The day she met him, she felt it.
And the day she gave her heart to him,
she knew for sure;
she was never going to heaven.
For he was no angel,
this bad boy of hers.
And without him in it,
Heaven,
no matter how beautiful
will never have her either…
His was a heart
that had a case of Wanderlust;
and couldn't stay glued to another heart
even if he wished it would.
But when it met hers
he knew in an instant
with a clarity that shook him to his very core;
that never again, nor further
shall these eyes,
heart
or soul wander...
She paints pictures of him through her words
in a secret diary
that he has no idea exists.
He captures her image through a silent camera
and collects them as memories in a box
deep inside their cupboard.
They’re both in love
and the world surely knows it.
But how much,
and how deeply,
only those silent
secret
treasures know to tell…

It was morning and she was afraid to open her eyes.
She could feel the warmth of the sun rays
that danced through the curtains,
And hear the sounds
of the outside world coming alive.
Yet she was afraid to open her eyes.
“Be strong, be strong”
she tells her heart,
as she draws in a deep breath
even as her eyes fight to stay closed.
But before she could find her courage,
before she could pry her eyes open,
she felt a hand on her cheek
warm, calloused and hard.
“Good mornin’ ”
she heard his voice say.
Eyes flying open now
she didn’t want to ever close them again.
She kept them open,

The man stared out of the car at the pouring rain, a smile gracing his aging face. He turns to glance at the passenger seat next to him, and the fold-able umbrella that sat on it; waiting for him to open it up and shield himself against the rain.
Glancing once more at the rain, his fingers twitch indecisively.
“its been a while…” his heart whispered softly, his eyes watching the rain longingly.
He stretched his hand out and let the rain drops dot his hand, making the ring in his finger shimmer prettily.
“she might not even remember…” his heart said logically.
He doubted it.

A Little Kindness Goes a Long Way
In an effort to keep energy costs down, the doors to our school were no longer open at the start and end of each school day. I was not looking forward to this, as the doors were large and heavy. On the first day of school, I was with some girlfriends and as we approached the door one of the male students opened the door for us.
“Good morning, ladies,” he said with a smile as we went through, leaving the warming outside for the welcoming air conditioned interior. This sounded strange, but I wasn’t about to argue.
“Who was that?” I asked by BFF Heather.
“He transferred in last year, although I forget
The Meeting
Hinata stood outside the two story house that his baseball had crashed through the second story window. Knocking on the door, a young woman answered the door. The woman had let him in, she did not look upset, but she did ask for him to apologize to her daughter directly for throwing a baseball into her bedroom window.
Following the woman upstairs and the second door on the right is when they stopped. She knocked onto the door calling out the her daughter’s name, Yui.
“That name.”He thought to himself.
“Yui, the person who hit the baseball into your room is here to apologize.” The mother said befor
Collarbones
Thigh gaps
Skinny legs
They are haunting me
Taunting me
Destroying me
Work out more
Eat less
A little more less
Then starve yourself
Till your hair falls
And your death calls
Stop the hunger
Go and sleep
For an hour or two
Till the day is already over
So you sleep again
And the hunger sleeps
But only for a while
Then comes the light of day
And the hunger wakes up
Like a savage animal
Like a growling wolf
Wanting to conquer its meal
But collarbones
Thigh gaps
Skinny legs
Are calling out to me

I lie awake upon my bed,
With random thoughts inside my head.
My stomach growls, I need to eat.
I think I'd like a cookie treat.
So, quietly, without a peep,
With ninja skills I start to creep.
I slowly walked on down the hall.
Those treats were mine, I'd have ‘em all!
But wait, what's this? What have I spied?
My parent's door was open wide!
I couldn't breath, my stomach clenched.
I ventured on, my clothes were drenched.
The minutes seemed like hours gone.
With nervous steps I tiptoed on.
So far so good, I felt assured,
This obstacle I would endure.
Just nearly halfway past their door,
When suddenly my stomach roared!
My heart was b
He stands at the gate,
his smile proud and reassuring,
as he watches his baby girl
on her first day at kindergarten.
She turns around
her tiny pink lips wobbling
and her searching eyes filling up with tears,
until she finds him,
sees his reassuring face,
and then she smiles; a brave little soldier's smile
Now,
25 years later
he finds himself standing at another gate,
an airport railing,
as he watches his child
and her child
walk into their new future.
She turns around
and this time
it's his eyes that well up in tears,
his breath that hitched slightly,
and her smile
that washes over him in reassurance
this year is good for the writer in me; in more than one way :D
Meanwhile, though I'm filling up my notebooks with poems and snippets of short stories; I don't really get time to type it out and post it up here :( I'll just have to post it whenever I get a surprise holiday from work now :P
Here's to those happy surprises in the name of unexpected holidays from work!
Hope everyone's having a good year so far,
and thanks for stopping by!
